Bhubaneswar: A special Court on Wednesday adjourned the hearing of the bail petition of BJD leader and sitting Pipili MLA Pradeep Maharathy to April 27.
According to sources, the court postponed the hearing as did not receive the case diary and the injury report from the police.
Earlier, Maharathy was sent to Jharpada Special Jail after the Bhubaneswar Sub Divisional Judicial Magistrate (SDJM) turned down his bail petition on April 22.
However, the BJD leader fell ill while he was being produced in the JMFC Court and had to be shifted to Capital Hospital for treatment.
Noteworthy, Maharathy was arrested hours after members of the election flying squad and Static Surveillance Team were attacked while conducting a raid at his farmhouse at Hunkeipur village in Pipili late Sunday night.
