Ambulance staff show exemplary act of humanity in Sambalpur

Sambalpur: In an exemplary act of humanity, the staff of a 108 ambulance carried a sick patient on their shoulders and wade through a nullah to reach their vehicle in Jhatakimal village under Redhakhol police limits in Sambalpur yesterday.

As per the report, the patient identified as Mangdal Kindo of the same village fall critically sick last afternoon and needed immediate hospitalization. While the family members of Kindo called up the 108 ambulance service and a vehicle arrived near the village, it failed to reach the patient’s home due to lack of a motorable road.

Rising up to the occasion and without making further delay the staff of the ambulance got out of it and reached the patient’s home by wading through a nullah and carried her on their shoulders in a stretcher and returned.

Later, the patient was rushed to a nearby hospital in the ambulance and her life was saved.

The ambulance staffs have garnered praise from the locals for their act.
