Achyuta Samanta Extends Helping Hand To Canal Man Of Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Lok  Sabha MP and founder of KIIT & KISS Dr Achyuta Samanta today extended help to Padma Shri awardee Daitari Naik who claimed that he was struggling to make his ends meet.

Naik is popularly known as the ‘Canal Man of Odisha’ was conferred with a Padma Shri for single-handedly carving a three-kilometre-long canal from a mountain stream in his village in Keonjhar district.

Samanta today provided financial assistance of Rs 4000 to Naik and promised to provide monthly assistance of Rs 3000 by KISS Foundation. The MP also requested the Keonjhar district administration to extend help to Naik.

“Samanta also promised me to employ my grandson at KISS. Besides he also promised me to admit my two other grandsons at KISS. I am very thankful to him for his support,” said Naik after meeting the MP in the state capital.
