45 XIMB Students Test Positive! Odisha CM To Review Covid Situation, Likely To Take Decision On Lockdown: SRC

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) Pradeep Jena on Monday informed that Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will review COVID situation as 45 students of Xavier Institute of Management (XIMB) in Bhubaneswar tested positive for the deadly virus.

While speaking to the media persons, Jena said that the travel history of all the 45 cases detected from the XIMB is being tracked.

Jena further said that several top officials and all the district Collectors and Superintendents of Police (SPs) will attend the review meeting which will be chaired by the Chief Minister. Decision regarding lockdown and other aspects will be taken during the meeting after reviewing the situation completely, he added.

The SRC further said that the village-level Covid management committee will be activated again and responsibility will be given to all the Sarpanchs, ASHA, and Anganwadi workers to keep a close vigil on everyone entering the villages with an aim to contain further spread of the Coronavirus.

It is to be noted here that the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC), which sealed the Xavier Institute of Management (XIMB) today, had earlier informed that 23 positive cases were detected from the institute.
