Koraput: Mystery shrouded the death of a 3-month-old girl child whose body was found from a hay mound located near her home in Podasili village under Dasamantapur block in Koraput district last night.
As per the report, the 3-month-old child identified as the daughter of Rajendra Muduli of the village was sleeping near her mother Anita Muduli last night when went missing. Later her body was recovered by a mentally-challenged boy from a hay mound.
The body had been stuffed in a sack and kept near the mound.
Police rushed to the spot and seized the body of the deceased for autopsy subsequently.
While it is still not clear how the child went to the mound, locals have suspected the role of her father in the killing.
Rajendra and his wife were having regular quarrels over some family dispute and the killing might have been the result of that feud.
Police have started interrogation of the accused.
