Miscreant loots Rs 3 lakh by breaking bike dickey of scribe in Puri

Puri: Throwing an open challenge to police an unidentified miscreant has looted Rs 3 lakh by breaking the bike dickey of a scribe near Pipili Sub-Registrar’s office yesterday.

The victim has been identified as Pradeep Badhei of Potala village.

As per the report, Pradeep had withdrawn cash worth Rs 3.50 lakh from Dandamukundapur branch of State Bank of India which he had to deposit to a Moharir at Pipili Sub-Registrar office to purchase a plot.

Pradeep had kept the cash bag in his bike dickey and was getting some documents photocopied at a shop near the Sub-Registrar office chhak when a miscreant looted it. Several other important documents were also in the same bag.

After the victim lodged a case at Pipili Police Station in connection with the case IIC Sarat Kumar Sahu visited the spot and carried out an investigation.

CCTV footages available with several shops located near the area are being examined to identify the looter.
