Malkangiri: At least 2 persons are missing after a boat capsized in the Balimela reservoir in the Swabhiman Anchal under Chitrakonda block of Malkangiri district in Odisha on Monday. The two missing persons are said to be from Orapadar village.
As per reports, after wrapping up business at the weekly market of Naring Jhola village three persons were returning in a country boat to home when the boat capsized near Orapadar after the boatman lost balance in the middle of the river.
One of the three persons managed to reach the shore at Orapadar by swimming along the water. However, the other two persons of the boat are still missing.
After getting alerted, Jodamba Police reached the river bank at Orapadar while rescue operation is underway by the locals and Police.
