2 killed, 1 injured in bike-scooter collision in Odisha

At least two persons were killed while another was injured following a head-on collision between a bike and a scooter in Kendrapara district today.

Kendrapara: At least two persons were killed while another was injured following a head-on collision between a bike and a scooter in Kendrapara district today.

According to reports, Khageswar Nayak and Ramesh Nayak of Kaithapala village of the district were reportedly returning home from Sihopada on a bike this afternoon. However, they collided with a scooter which was coming from the opposite direction on Sihopada-Baripada road.

All three of them were rushed to the Rajkanika Community Health Centre (CHC) in a critical condition. However, Khageswar Nayak and Ramesh Nayak were declared dead on arrival by the doctors, while Sushant Bindhani, the scooter rider is still undergoing treatment with a fractured leg and other injuries on his body at the hospital.

Later, a team of cops from the Rajkanika police reached the hospital after getting information about the incident and sent the bodies for postmortem. They also seized both the two-wheelers and initiated a probe into the matter.
