Keonjhar: Taking prompt action against the miscreants involved in pelting stones at Odisha School and Mass Education Minister Badri Naryan Patra’s car during his recent Keonjhar visit, police arrested at least two persons and detained an equal number last night.
All the arrests were made by a special team of Ghasipura Police which conducted raids at a number of places in Belabahali area throughout the night yesterday.
Patra was on his way to take part in the Ganesh idol immersion ceremony at Belabahali on September 16 night when the attack took place. The stones pelted by the miscreants hit the rear windshield of his car damaging it badly.
Supporters of Patra blocked the NH-20 in Anandpur near Jarada Square in protest to the attack the next day. A similar road blockade was also staged at Ghatagaon later same day.
While police have not disclosed the identity of the held miscreants, their interrogation is underway.
