Balasore: A 12-feet-long python was rescued from Salabandha village in Nilagiri area of the district, late last night.
The reptile, weighing around 24 kg, was spotted by locals when it was crossing the road in the village.
Villagers also informed the members of the Snake Helpline which reached the spot and rescued it.
The snake was later handed over to the forest officials who released it into Kuldiha forest.
