Balasore: A youth had a close shave after being attacked by an Indian sloth bear in Khairibani village under Nilagiri area of Balasore district today.
The victim has been identified as Kalinga Kumar Patra of the same village.
As per the report, the victim had been to a forested area located near the village this morning in some work when the bear which had sneaked into it last night in search of food chased him. However, the successfully foiled the predator attack and managed to escape from the spot with minor injuries.
After the bear attack news spread in Khiribani village, locals criticised the lackadaisical attitude of the forest officials for the incident. They demanded immediate installation of solar fencing around the forest to save lives.
