The Indian squad for T20I series against Afghanistan has been announced by Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Sunday.

The Indian squad for Twenty-20 International series against Afghanistan has been announced by Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Sunday.

Star Indian players, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are back into the side after not taking part in any international T20 matches since the T20 World Cup. Meanwhile, Hardik Pandya and Suryakumar Yadav will not play the series due to injury.

Additionally, Mohammed Siraj and Jasprit Bumrah are both rested for upcoming games against Afghanistan amd will probably make their return to the Test squad which will face England. Both the bowlers played key roles in India’s thumping win over South Africa at Cape Town on Thursday.

The T20 series will be the only series India will play ahead of the T20 World Cup 2024 in June.
