Cape Town: The Rohit Sharma led India team won the second test against South Africa by 7 wickets at Cape Town at Newlands Cricket Ground on Thursday.

With Aiden Markram’s splendid innings of 106 run, the host was looking good but Jasprit Bumrah with his six-wicket haul helped India to restrict them for 176 in their second innings on day two and needed just 79 runs to win the match.

With the win, the Men in Blue leveled the test series and became the online Asian side to win a test match in Cape Town.

While Mohammed Siraj, who registered his career-best figures in the format – 6/15, was adjudged as Player of the Match while Jasprit Bumrah and Dean Elgar were given the Player of the Series Awards.

Brief Scores: South Africa 55 and 176 in 36.5 overs (Aiden Markram 106; Jasprit Bumrah 6-61) lost to India 153 and 80/3 in 12 overs (Yashasvi Jaiswal 28; Marco Jansen 1-15) by seven wickets.
