Antigua Test: India restrict West Indies at 222 in first innings

Antigua: India restricted West Indies at 222 and took a 75-run lead in their first innings on the third day of the first Test at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium here on Saturday.

Resuming at their overnight score of 189 for 8, the West Indies could add only 33 runs.

Roston Chase top-scored with 48, while skipper Jason Holder played a fighting 39-run knock in reply to India’s 297 in their first innings.

For India, Ishant Sharma scalped 5 for 43. Besides, Mohammed Shami and Ravindra Jadeja took two wickets each, while Bumrah got one.

Meanwhile, the Indian cricket team wore black armbands as a mark of respect for former Union Minister and veteran cricket administrator Arun Jaitley, who passed away in New Delhi today.
