In a recent act of courage, two women from Uttarakhand bravely fought a tiger in order to save their friend from the clutches of the beast. The incident took place in Boon forest Range in Champawat.

Sources tell us that that three women had gone to the nearby forest to collect fodder. One of them, Geeta Devi, aged 36, was attacked by the tiger.

The other two women were Janaki Devi and Parvati Devi, aged 36 and 37, respectively.

Reportedly, the man eater dragged Geeeta for about 40 meters when Janaki and Parvati jumped into action. The two Uttarakhand women responded swiftly, fighting the tiger with whatever they found at hand. They used sticks, stones, and sickles to fight back the big cat.

Eventually, the tiger retreated its steps. Geeta, however, was left critically injured. She was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment in a nearly unconscious state. She is currently out of danger. She has been referred to another medical centre for further treatment.

Officials from the forest department have advised the villagers to not enter into the forest in the coming days as a precautionary measure.
