Youth killed in Mayurbhanj of Odisha, 2 detained

Mayurbhanj/Sarasakna: In a shocking incident, a youth has allegedly been killed in Mayurbhanj district of Odisha on Tuesday, said reports.

According to reports, there was local tension over the death of young man in a fatal attack over a  petty dispute. The youth killed in Mayurbhanj has been identified as Gopal Mahanath (19) of Badachatra village under Jharpokharia police station of Mayurbhanj district.

The police have detained two people in the police station in this connection and are continuing the investigation. Detailed reports awaited in this regard.

Recently in September, the body of a woman who had gone missing was found stuffed in a gunny bag near Kendumundi jungle under Karanjia police limits of Mayurbhanj district.

The deceased woman had been identified as Nirupama Mahanta.

Reports say, some onlookers spotted a gunny bag inside the jungle and informed the police about the incident. The police reached the spot and recovered the bag and found a woman stuffed inside the gunny bag.

The deceased woman family alleges that the in-laws must have killed their daughter. The police have detained Nirupama’s husband and father-in-law on suspicion of murder.
