Woman pushed off moving train by hubby, loses leg

Jajpur: A woman had a miraculous save after being pushed out of a moving train near Jenapur Railway Station here last night.

The victim identified as Sabitri Das of Mundamala village however lost her left to the incident.

Sabitri who accompanied her husband Rabi to Balasore in some work last afternoon was on her way back to home when the attack took place. A verbal duel erupted between the victim and her husband ahead of alighting the train at Jajpur Railway Station. As the argument escalated further Rabi who was in an inebriated condition pushed his wife off the bogie in a fit of rage near Jenapur Railway Station.

The victim sustained grievous injury on her left leg after falling off the train and was rushed to Jajpur Community Health Centre (CHC) by railway officials immediately. She was later shifted to SCB Medical College under critical condition where doctors had to remove her left leg.

Police have registered a case in the incident and are trying to trace the accused husband.
