Balangir: A man was killed after falling onto train tracks near Kantabanji Railway Station near Bandapada village in the district last night.
The deceased has been identified as Jalandhar Bhoi of Bandapada village.
Jalandhar was on his way to attend nature’s call at a farmland located in the vicinity of a rail track near the village when the mishap took place. The victim reportedly lost balance while passing the tracks and sustained critical head injury. He bled profusely on the spot and turned critical.
Jalandhar’s family members rushed him to Kantabanji CHC after some bystanders found him lying in a pool of blood on the track and intimated them. However, he died under treatment at the hospital.
The victim’s family members have informed that he was mentally ill.
Kantabanji Police lodged a case of unnatural death in the incident reaching the hospital and also sent the body for postmortem.
