Woman killed for dowry in Odisha’s Ganjam
According to reports, Rahmita had got married to Dipu Barik of Budhabari village three years ago and was regularly harrased by her in-laws for dowry
Ganjam: A woman was found dead at Budhabari village under Tarasinghi police limits of Ganjam district on Sunday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Rashmita Mallik.
According to reports, Rahmita had got married to Dipu Barik of Budhabari village three years ago and was regularly harrased by her in-laws for dowry.
The kin of the deceased claimed that she was killed by her in-laws for dowry and informed the police about the incident.
On being informed about the incident, the Tarasinghi police reached the spot and have recovered the dead body and sent it to Bhanjanagar Medical for post-mortem.
Later, the police have started an investigation into the matter.
