Winter returns in Odisha, light rainfall expected in state till February 16

Bhubaneswar: After a few days of respite, winter has returned to Odisha. The nighttime temperature has dropped slightly for the last two days in several areas of the state. As a result of which, Odisha has started experiencing winter once again.

Areas under coastal Odisha have witnessed a significant change in weather. The temperature might increase by two to three degree Celsius in the next couple of days.

Last week witnessed a rise in nighttime temperature in several areas across Odisha.While the atmosphere remains dry during the day, air blows from sea to land during the night. As a result of which, the nighttime temperature continued to remain high.

On the other hand, several areas are likely to experience rainfall across Northern, Southern, and interior Odisha today and tomorrow.

Earlier on February 9, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted rainfall for several districts of Odisha while issuing weather warning for the week ahead.

As per the IMD prediction, Odisha is likely to experience light rain and dry weather between February 10 and February 16.

On Friday, the weatherman informed that the highest maximum temperature of 34.8 degree Celsius was recorded at Paralakhemundi while the lowest minimum temperature of 9.1 degree Celsius was recorded at Jharsuguda in the plains of Odisha.
