Balangir: A bandh has been called by Koshal Rajya Milita Karjyanushtan Committee demanding special state under the name Koshal in 11 districts of western part of Odisha.

The effect of the bandh was evident in Bolangir district with the protestors locking up the gate of the head post office and then they started picketing and blocked the roads. All the shops and business establishments and educational institutions have been closed due to the bandh. The transport has come to a grinding halt in most of the areas.

Several other organisations have supported the bandh in the 11 districts. However, essential services like medical and education have been excluded from the bandh.

However, the bandh has no effect in Sambalpur. While the bus services are normal, shops and businesses establishments are open in the city.
