WATCH: Heavy rain alert in Odisha! Fishermen not to venture into sea till July 27

Bhubaneswar (ANI): Heavy rain is likely over Odisha and fishermen have been instructed not to venture into the sea until July 27 according to the India Meteorological Department.

“Heavy rain is likely over Odisha on July 26, with heavy to very heavy rain likely over many parts of South and Coastal Odisha.” said IMD scientist Uma Shankar Das on Wednesday.

“Fishermen have been instructed not to venture into the sea till July 27”, added Uma Shankar Das senior scientist, IMD on July 25, 2023.

A low pressure active over the Bay of Bengal is causing continuous rainfall in several areas of the state. The low pressure is to intensify into depression today. As a result of which, heavy to very heavy rainfall is to continue in Odisha for the next few days.

The low pressure over the West-Central Bay of Bengal, adjoined with the low pressure on North-Western part of the ocean are likely to have significant impact on the Andhra-Southern Odisha coastal areas.
