Puri: While the World No Tobacco Day (WNTD) is being celebrated across the globe with much enthusiasm, renowned sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik has created a beautiful sand sculpture at sea beach here spreading awareness on the harmful effect of tobacco consumption.
The sculpture features a man smoking a cigar with a note, “No Tobacco Save Life, World No Tobacco Day”.

Notably, the WNTD is being observed worldwide since 1987 every year to promote abstinence from all forms of tobacco consumption. Observed on May 31 the WNTD gets a new theme every year from the World Health Organisation (WHO) and this year’s theme is “Tobacco and Lung Health.”
This year’s campaign will centred around making people aware of the harmful effect of tobacco consumption on the lungs health and role of it in causing cancer and other respiratory complicacies.
