Severe heat wave conditions to increase further in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: The maximum temperature is likely to increase further by two to three degree Celsius over various districts of Interior Odisha due to northwesterly/westerly dry air at lower cools and high solar insolation maximum temperature, informed the Meteorological Department, Bhubaneswar (IMD) on Tuesday.

Likewise, due to incursion of southerly along the coastal area near surface leech maximum temperature likely to fall slightly by about 2°C over districts of coastal Odisha during next 2 days and no large change thereafter.

Maximum temperature likely to be above normal by 3 to 5°C at many places over districts of interior Odisha and likely to be above normal by 2 to 3 °C at a few places of coastal Odisha during next 4 to 5 days.

The people are advised to take precautionary measure while going outside during day time between 11 am to 3 pm.

The heat wave condition very likely at isolated places over the districts of Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Mayurbhanj, Sambalpur, Sonepur, Angul, Deogarh & Bolangir on 26th April, over the districts of Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Sonepur, Angul, Deogarh & Bolangir on 27th April, over the districts of Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Sonepur, Angul, Deogarh, Boudh & Bolangir on 28th & 29th April, over the districts of Sambalpur, Sonepur, Boudh, Bolangir & Jharsuguda on 30th April, 2022.

It is advised to avoid heat exposure, keep cool and avoid dehydration.
