Security forces exchange fire with Maoists in Boudh of Odisha

Boudh: An exchange of fire took place between security forces and Maoists during a combing operation at Rabaneshwar jungle in Manamunda of Boudh in Odisha.

Acting on a tip-off about the presence of Naxals in the jungle, the Special Operations Group (SOG) and District Voluntary Force (DVF) jawan police launched a search and combing operation in Rabeneswar Jungle in Sagada under Manamunda tehsil.

The Maoists opened fire at the security forces, following which the security forces retaliated. The exchange of fire took place for around 50 minutes

According to sources, the police have recovered some camp articles from the spot. The naxals managed to flee from the spot into dense jungle.

Till last reports came, a search operation is underway. No casualties have been reported in the encounter.
