Puri: Tourist drowns in sea, declared dead at hospital
In an unfortunate incident, a tourist reportedly drowned while taking bath in sea in Puri and later he was declared dead at hospital today.
Puri: In an unfortunate incident, a tourist reportedly drowned while taking bath in sea in Puri and later he was declared dead at hospital today.
Forty-year-old Archit Banerjee from West Bengal had come to Puri on a visit along with his entire family members. This afternoon, they were taking bath in the sea near the light house. However, Archit was swept away by the strong waves.
However, the alert lifeguards, deployed at beach, managed rescue Archit and bring him to the seashore. Soon, he was rushed to the District Headquarter Hospital. Unfortunately, doctor declared him brought dead.
Meanwhile, cops from the Baliapanda Police Station initiated an investigation and sent the body for postmortem.
