Professor Amulya Panda passes away, donates his body to KIMS Hospital Bhubaneswar

A famous professor Amulya Kumar Panda passed away yesterday and has donated his body to KIMS Hospital Bhubaneswar.

Bhubaneswar: A famous professor Amulya Kumar Panda passed away yesterday and has donated his body to KIMS Hospital Bhubaneswar.

Professor Amulya Kumar Panda was a distinguished educationist, Professor of Zoology, Science writer, Columnist, Environmentalist passed away today. Prof. Panda earned fame by teaching Zoology while he was the chairman of  Ravenshaw College. He was also the editor of Vigyan Bhitika, a monthly science-based magazine published regularly by the Odisha Science Academy.

According to his will, his body was donated to Kalinga Institute of Medical Sciences in Bhubaneswar after his death. His family donated his dead body to KIMS.

Similarly, his eyes were donated to LV Prasad Eye Hospital in Bhubaneswar. Late Panda’s wife, son, daughter-in-law and family were present at his death bed.

Many prominent people have mourned his demise. Kandhamal MP and KIIT and KISS founder Dr. Achyuta Samanta also expressed deep grief over the demise of Professor Panda. After returning from Kandhamal today, Dr. Samanta paid his last respects to Professor Panda.

Expressing grief Dr. Samanta said that, “Professor Panda loved me very much. He continued to write till the end of his life.”
