Pollution level in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack break records in Diwali 2023

The pollution level in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack has broken records in Diwali this year said reliable reports on Monday. 

Bhubaneswar/Cuttack: The pollution level in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack has broken records in Diwali this year said reliable reports on Monday. According to reliable reports, the pollution level in the twin city rose beyond ever-recorded levels due to the bursting of firecrackers this diwali.

The levels of pollution reached a record high at midnight that is at around 1 am. The pollution level near Lingaraj temple in Old Town area of Bhubaneswar was an AQI (Air Quality Index) of 999, said reliable reports. It is worth mentioning here that the Air Quality Index (AQI) is used for reporting daily air quality.

Further according to reports, the AQI was 676 in Patia area of Bhubaneswar. Similarly the AQI in Cuttack city of Odisha at 1 am was 882 due to the indiscriminate bursting of firecrackers.

The Odisha state pollution control board has issued guidelines on Saturday for bursting firecrackers ahead of Diwali 2023. Still then the pollution level in Cuttack and Bhubaneswar was beyond the expected levels.
