Bhubaneswar: Police commissioner Sudhanshu Sarangi today suspended a sub-inspector (SI) of police for allegedly demanding bribe to release a robbed motorcycle.
Police said that the SI Sudhansu Sekhar Parida was posted with the Nayapalli police station. Sources said that Parida allegedly demanded bribe of Rs 8000 to release a robbed motorcycle.
“We have been asking our men not to indulge in any kind of corruption. Stringent action will be initiated against cops demanding bribe. We also urge people to bring such matter under our notice,” said a senior police official.
