Police ASI apprehended by Odisha Vigilance for taking bribe
The duos were detained for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 5,000 from a complainant to release his seized two wheeler and its connected documents.
Jeypore: Odisha Vigilance today apprehended Jeypore Town Police Station ASI on charges of bribery today. The ASI identified as Anil Kumar Nayak, was apprehended along with another man named Md. Nazrul.
The duos were detained for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 5,000 from a complainant to release his seized two wheeler and its connected documents.
The entire bribe money has been recovered from Md. Nazrul and seized. Following the trap, simultaneous searches are going on at two locations of ASI from DA angle.
In this connection, Koraput Vigilance P.S case No 2/2024 U/s-7PC (Amendment) Act, 2018 has been registered. Investigation is in progress against both the accused persons namely Nayak and Md. Nazrul.
