One Abhisekh Gupta allegedly attempted to kill the executive officer, Abhisekh Panda, by pouring petrol on him as he was angry after the shops on the government land situated in front of his house were not demolished by the civic body.
Some employees of the Barbil Municipality managed to detain Gupta before he could flee after launching murderous attack on the executive officer from the spot and handed him over to the police.
The cops are reportedly interrogating Gupta and ascertain more details in the case. The incident, meanwhile, has become a talk of the town in the area.
