Pharmacist beaten up in Bhadrak of Odisha for not giving saline bottle

Bhadrak: Pharmacist beaten up in Bhadrak district of Odisha for not giving saline bottle to a person said reports on Monday. However, this angered the young man and he attacked the pharmacist in the hospital.

Such an incident has been reported from Angrapada Community Health Center (CHC) in Bhadrak district. The CCTV visuals of which are now going viral.

Maheshwar Das of Agrapada police station Adia village under Banta block of Bhadrak district works as a pharmacist at Agarpada group health center. As usual, Maheshwar was on duty at the hospital yesterday. There was also a crowd of patients near him.

In the afternoon, a young man identified as Dipun Sethi of Purundha village and another person with him approached Maheshwar and asked for saline bottle which he wanted to take home with him. But Maheshwar refused, this angered Dipun Sethi he suddenly got up and attacked Maheshwar. Maheshwar said that saline cannot be given outside the doctor’s office or hospital.

Later, the security guards present there reached the spot and rescued Maheshwar. Further it is worth mentioning here that the entire footage of the pharmacist beaten up in Bhadrak has gone viral. However, as a public servant in the hope of justice, he filed a written complaint at Agarpada police station today on the instructions of CDMO (Chief District Medical Officer) and gave the CCTV footage to the police.

In his letter he requested the police to take strict action against the culprit and to protect him from further attacks in future. The police detained Dipun Sethi in the police station and started investigating into the incident. Further detailed reports awaited in this regard.
