Passengers Create Ruckus At Jharsuguda Airport Over Cancellation Of Flights
Jharsuguda: Irate passengers created a ruckus at Jharsuguda’s Veer Surendra Sai Airport (VSSA) after SpiceJet flights to Kolkata and Hyderabad were cancelled abruptly last evening.
SpiceJet, which runs flights from Jharsuguda to both the cities, informed passengers that the flights have been cancelled after which the frustrated travellers got into a heated argument with the company staff.
According to reports, flights from Jharsuguda to Hyderabad and Kolkata have not been operating since June 6.
Meanwhile, passengers have also alleged that they have been facing chaos due to delays and cancellations of flights for many days. The flights are horribly delayed most of the time, adding to the woes of travelers, they informed.
Meanwhile, the Airport Authorities said the absence of ‘Instrumental Landing System’ at the airport is leading to frequent delay and cancellation of flights.
The officials further assured that work is underway and normalcy in flight operations at the Jharsuguda Airport will be restored soon.
