Odisha Vigilance apprehend Forest Guard with Rs 1.53 Lakh cash

Vigilance officials today apprehended a Forest Guard with Rs 1.53 Lakh cash in Odisha’s Nabarangpur district whom they identified as Binayak Sori.

Nabarangpur: Vigilance officials today apprehended a Forest Guard with Rs 1.53 Lakh cash in Odisha’s Nabarangpur district whom they identified as Binayak Sori, the Forest Guard of Nandahandi Beat and in-charge of Jagannathpur Beat, office of Nabarangpur Divisional Forest Officer (DFO).

Acting on a reliable information, the Vigilance sleuths intercepted Sori near Kapur dam of Indrabati project while he was traveling in a motorcycle from Khatiguda to Jagannathpur.

During the interception, cash to the tune of Rs 1.53 Lakh (suspected ill-gotten cash) was found in his possession. As he could not account for satisfactorily, the amount was recovered from him and seized.

Following the interception, house search is being carried out at one location of Sori from DA angle. He is being examined to ascertain the source of funds. Detailed report follows.
