Bhubaneswar: Several places in Odisha will likely receive light rainfall today as the deep depression over the Bay of Bengal forms into a cyclone.

The deep depression will intensify into a cyclone while it is moving in the north-northeast direction over the West Central Bay of Bengal. The possible cyclone is head towards the coast of Bangladesh. It is likely to cross between Mongla and Khepupara on the Bangladesh coast on the morning of November 18th. At that time, the wind speed can reach 60 to 70 km per hour and can reach 80 km per hour.

The deep depression is now centered 190 km south-southeast of Paradip, 280 km south-southeast of Digha and 390 km south-southwest of Bangladesh’s Khepupara. Under the influence of this deep depression, there will be light to moderate rain at one or two places in several districts of the state including Balasore, Bhadrak, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, and Jajpur.
