PWD SDO Siddharth Das reportedly reached Harisankar temple to inspect the ongoing developmental work. In the meantime, local sarapanch Sushil Guru reached the spot and alleged corruption in the work. Following which, a heated argument broke out between the two.
Irate over the argument, the PWD SDO attacked the sarapanch. Some people present at the spot, rescued Guru and tried to pacify the duo.
On getting information, cops from the Harisankar police outpost reached the spot and started an investigation into the matter after both of them filed two separate cases against each other.
The incident was heavily condemned by the people of all walks of life in the locality.
