According to reports of the State government, from the total number of samples that were tested in the last 24 hours, 97 samples turned out to be positive.
The active case tally in the State rose to 556 with the detection of 97 new cases today. A total of 29 patients also recovered from the virus in the last 24 hours, added the government.
India on Sunday has reported 5,357 new Covid-19 cases in the past 24 hours, with this, the number of active cases in the country is 32,814, according to the Union health ministry data updated.
The total number of active cases were reported on Saturday were 6,155.
The country witnessed 11 deaths in the last 24 hours, taking the death tally to 5,30,965
In the last 24 hours, 98.74 per cent of people recovered from the virus, with this total number of recoveries stands at 44,192,837.
The daily positivity rate stood at 3.39 per cent, while the weekly positivity rate at 3.02 per cent.
According to the data, the health officials have conducted 1,57,894 tests for coronavirus in the last 24 hours.
In view of the rise in number of Covid-19 cases across the state, the Uttar Pradesh government has issued a ‘high-priority’ directive, instructing officials concerned to ensure that international passengers are screened at all airports.
