India registers 6,155 fresh covid-19 infections, 11 deaths in last 24 hours

The active cases comprise 0.07 per cent of the total infections. The national covid-19 recovery rate stands at 98.74 per cent

New-Delhi: India on Saturday has registered 6,155 fresh covid-19 infections in the last 24 hours. The active tally has witnessed a spike and increased to 31,194. According to Union Health Ministry data India’s total covid-19 cases stands at 4.47 crore (4,47,51,259).

The death toll climbed to 5,30,954 with 11 deaths, including two reconciled by Kerala, the data updated at 8 am stated. The daily positivity rate stands at 5.63%.

WITH COVID-19 cases continuing to rise across the country, Union health minister Mansukh Mandaviya in a virtual meeting with state health ministers on Friday asked them toramp up testing, monitor cases of influenza-like illnesses to identify emerging hotspots and ensure readiness of hospital infrastructure.

Mansukh Mandaviya asked the state health ministers to review the preparedness over the next two days and conduct mock drills on April 10 and 11 in the hospitals.
