Odisha monsoon: Rainfall to intensify in state, Yellow warning issued to 10 districts

The amount of rainfall in Odisha has decreased with the Trapline heading towards north. Rainfall to intensify in state from Aug 15.

Bhubaneswar: Heavy rainfall with lightning and thunder is anticipated today in 12 districts of Odisha. Forecasts suggest heavy rainfall across several areas of the state for the next four days.

The amount of rain has decreased in the state as the Trapline is heading towards north direction. Odisha monsoon is likely to intensify due to heavy rainfall from August 15. A yellow warning has been issued to 10 districts in view of heavy to very heavy rainfall on August 15.

The ongoing monsoon season in Odisha has recorded rainfall of 653 mm. This is six percent less than the expected 698.4 mm rainfall. It is noteworthy that some areas have received record breaking rainfall in the ongoing monsoon season.
