Odisha: 12-hour bandh in Kantanbanji over demand of district status

Kantabanji: A 12-hour bandh has been observed in Kantabanji town of Balangir district over the demand of district status. The locals have called for a dawn-to-dusk bandh, i.e., from 6AM to 6 PM.

Business establishments, schools, colleges, and vehicular movement in the area have been shut down for 12-hours. This has affected the daily life of the residents of that area.

The bandh has been called by the Kantabanji Zilla Sangharsh Samiti. Members of the committee were seen protesting at Indira Chowk in Kantabanji. Members of over 30 different committees were seen joining the protest.
