It is an attempt to defame: OCA over fake passes for India-South Africa T20 Match at Barabati

Bhubaneswar: Taking a serious note of the reports regarding fake passes for the recently concluded India-South Africa T20 match at Barabati Stadium in Cuttack, the Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) today issued a clarification in this regard.

Speaking to the media persons, Subrat Kumar Behera, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of OCA clarified that the association has not issued any such passes to anyone. The allegation of fake passes has been leveled now only with an aim to defame OCA.

The OCA is not involved in any such indent and the fake passes have been printed after the completion of the T20 match at Barabati Stadium, Behera said adding that the cricket association will take a decision on whether to make the data regarding the passes distributed to the guests public or not.

He further clarified that the OCA has not filed any complaint with the police in this regard.

It is to be noted here that some people allegedly had fake passes which were looking exactly like the ones issued by the OCA and tried to enter the stadium to witness the match between South Africa and India on June 12. However, the matter came to the fore only after some people shared the photos of the fake passes on different social media platforms.
