Nayagarh: In the case of a youth opening fire at his own biological mother in Daspalla area of Nayagarh district in Odisha, the accused has been detained by Police. Yesterday evening he had shot at his mother after the woman refused to give money for alcohol. The accused has been detained.
The victim woman has been identified as Duita Pradhan and the accused son is Sushanta.
As per reports, Sushanta demanded money from her mother for getting intoxicated for which the woman refused. As a result he got annoyed and went inside the house and returned with a country pistol. He then allegedly opened fire from that gun at his mother.
After sustaining the bullet injury in her leg, the lady fainted on the spot. However, the neighbours rushed to the spot and rescued her while the accused, the elder son of the lady fled from the scene.
The incident took place in the Kalasakhamana village under Banigochha Police Station limits in Nayagarh district. The neighbours then rushed the injured lady to the Community Health Centre in Daspalla. However, as the doctor advised she was then shifted to the district head quarter hospital. Later, as her health condition deteriorated, the victim lady has reportedly been shifted to Bhubaneswar for treatment.
After being alerted, Banigochha Police rushed to the spot and seized the county gun. Later, Police traced out the accused and detained him in the Police Station. Further investigation of the case is underway.
