Nandankanan to get Cheetah, lion cub and giraffe in January 2024

Nandankanan Zoological Park (NZP) on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar will get a Cheetah in January 2024, informed Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (PCCF) Sushant Nanda.

Bhubaneswar: Nandankanan Zoological Park (NZP) on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar will get a Cheetah in January 2024, informed Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (PCCF) Sushant Nanda.

According to the PCCF, the Cheetah will be brought from Dubai Zoo as part of animal exchange program. Apart from the Cheetah, a white lion cub will be brought from the zoo, he added.

Nanda further said that a giraffe will also be brought from the Alipore Zoo in West Bengal.

It is to be noted here that the Nandankanan Zoo authorities on December 23 brought two each Wallabies and Livingstone’s Turacos from a private farm in Hyderabad. While the Livingstone’s turacos were brought to the zoo for the first time, the Wallabies were brought after a long period of 35 years.
