NAC Assistant Engineer in Vigilance net in Sambalpur

Sambalpur: Launching a crackdown on corrupt officials in the State, Vigilance Department conducted multiple raids against an Assistant Engineer of Kuchinda Notified Area Council (NAC) today on charges of amassing properties disproportionate to his known source of income.

The accused official has been identified as Upendra Nayak.

Five separate teams of Sambalpur Vigilance wing took part in the raid which started this morning and carried out the search at Nayak’s resident at Ghosa village, Kuchinda house and office in Sambalpur district along with his in-laws’ house in Bhukta village of Bargarh and another place in the same district.

During the raids, the anti-corruption wing officials checked several bank accounts, land records and valuable jewelleries possessed by Nayak.

While the raid was underway till last report came in, the officials said the exact amount of seized disproportionate asset will be declared only after it gets completed.
