Miscreants open fire, loot gold jewelry from couple in Odisha’s Keonjhar

Anandapur: In a shocking incident, miscreants on Saturday looted gold jewelry from a couple in Keonjhar district of Odisha. The miscreants opened fire to frighten the couple and committed the loot.

The incident took place on the National Highway no. 20 at the Birgovindapur chhaka under Ghasipura Police Station limits of the district.

The victims have been identified as Nigam Prasad Sahu of Dhenkikote and his wife.

As per reports, Nigam Prasad Sahu was going to Tolankapada along with his wife on a scooty. At Birgovindpur chhaka three miscreants approached the couple on a pulsar bike and hit their scooty. However, the couple managed to save themselves from sustaining any critical injury.

Then, as the couple asked why they hit their bike with the scooty the miscreants took out guns and opened fire to frighten them. They reportedly fired three shots for which the couple got frightened. Then, they looted the jewelry from the couple and fled from the scene.

Soon, the locals rushed to the spot. It was found that bullets had pierced into the body of the scooty.

After getting information Police rushed to the spot and initiated investigation. Further inquiry of the case is underway while so far there is no arrest.
