Bhadrak: In a gruesome incident, unidentified miscreants hacked a man to death and mutilated his body badly in Bachhipur village under Arandua panchayat in the district last night.
The deceased has been identified as Ganesh Satapathy of the same village.
The murder came to light this morning after Satapathy’s wife Bhagyalaxmi, who was out on a pilgrimage returned home this morning and found his blood stained body lying in a room. The left eye of the victim was spotted gouged out and a cut mark was also seen on his forehead pointing at attack with a sharp weapon.
Basudevpur Police reached the spot immediately after intimation on the incident and rushed the body for post-mortem to Basudevpur Community Health Centre (CHC).
While an investigation is underway on the basis of an FIR filed by the wife of the deceased at Basudevpur Police Station, she has claimed it a pre-planned murder.
