Bhubaneswar: Acting on a tip-off, Odisha Vigilance on Friday arrested Mancheswar Police Station ASI Rabi Sahu on bribery charges.
Sahu was apprehended by the Vigilance officials while demanding and accepting bribe Rs 5,000 from a complainant (owner of an Eatery), threatening to frame him in a case otherwise.
Apart from arresting the team of anti-corruption team also recovered the entire bribe money from the accused Sahu. In this connection, Bhubaneswar Vigilance PS Case No.2/2022 U/s 7 PC Amd. Act 2018 has been registered.
Further investigation against Sahu is underway.
Earlier today, the Vigilance team also arrested Rabi Narayana Prusty, the Chief Engineer of Odisha State Pollution Control Board (OPSCB), Bhubaneswar on the allegation of possession of assets disproportionate to the known sources of income.
Similarly, Ratnakar Sethy, the Additional Civil Supplies Officer (ACSO) of Nuapada was arrested and forwarded to the Court of Special Judge Vigilance, Cuttack yesterday. He was arrested for possession of disproportionate assets worth Rs 6,43,84,862 which he could not account for satisfactorily.
