Gajapati: A man was stabbed to death during a marriage procession in Odisha’s Gajapati district. The incident has come to the fore from Chandragiri area under Mohana police limit of the district.
The deceased has been identified as Prashant Pradhan of Chandragiri village. According to reports, Prashant had gotten married nearly 15 days back.
Reportedly, Prashant Pradhan had attended a marriage procession during which, one Srihari Pradhan attack him with knife. He got severely injured in the attack leading to him ultimate demise.
After receiving information about the incident, police reached the spot, seized the body and sent it for autopsy. The cops have also arrested the accused and initiated a probe into the matter.
Meanwhile, it is suspected that the accused allegedly murdered Prashant over past enmity. Further detailed reports related to the matter are awaited.
In a similar instance, a woman was killed in Barang of Cuttack district in Odisha on Monday. According to reports, the murder in Barang has taken place in Godisahi area. It has been suspected that the woman is suspected to have been murdered.
It is worth mentioning here that, the age of the dead woman is above 50 years of age. The woman killed in Barang was found behind the house in a decapitated state.
