Man killed after being hit by bus in Bhanjanagar of Odisha

Bhanjanagar: A man was killed after being hit by a bus while he was riding bike in Bhanjanagar of Odisha’s Ganjam district. The incident occurred in Buduli village under Bhanjanagar police limits of the district.

According to sources, the deceased has been identified as Debadutta Dalbehera, a resident of Nidhipalli village. Reportedly, Debadutta was en route to his village from Bhanjanagar on his bike when the passenger bus hit him. After the accident, Debadutta died on the spot.

After receiving information about the incident, police reached the spot, seized the body and sent it for autopsy. The cops have also detained the driver of the bus and initiated a probe into the matter.

In a similar instance, at least three persons have sustained injuries after a pick-up van veered off the road after hitting RMC mobile check-post at Rajghat on NH-60 under Basta police limits of Balasore district.

The injured persons have been admitted to the Basta hospital and after their health condition deteriorated they were shifted to Balasore District Headquarters hospital (DHH) for medical aid.

As per reports, the paper-laden pick-up van enroute West-Bengal from Balasore lost control over its wheels, hit the check-post and fell into 30-feet gorge near the Rajghat in Balasore.

On being informed about the incident, the Basta police and patrolling van reached the spot and rescued the injured ones.
