Man dies of heart attack during nephew’s cremation in Odisha
In a saddening incident, a man reportedly died of heart attack during his nephew’s cremation in Odisha’s Puri today.
Kendrapara: In a saddening incident, a man reportedly died of heart attack during his nephew’s cremation in Odisha’s Puri today.
The body of one Rudra Prasad Mohanty of Balijhari village in Pattamundai area of the district with injury marks was reportedly found from near the rail line at Jarti railway station between Koraput and Jaypore.
The Government Railway Police (GRP) conducted an investigation into the matter after registering a case 16/23. In course of probe they identified him from the ATM card which was found in his money purse. He was studying BSc in Koraput by staying with his aunt’s house. However, under what circumstances he reached the spot and died there is yet to be known.
On being informed, several family members of Rudra rushed to the spot and received the body after the postmortem. Later, they took Rudra’s body to Puri Swargadwara for cremation.
In the process of cremation, Trailokya Mohanty, Rudra’s uncle (father’s elder brother) was so shocked on seeing the body of Rudra, whom he loved and raised as own son being cremated, that he got heart attack and collapsed at the Swarga Dwara.
Soon, he was rushed to the Puri district headquarter hospital for treatment. However, doctors declared him dead.
A pall of gloom descended on the locality following the death of two members of the same family.
